XPark Jr. is a fun outdoor playscape located just off Kite Beach. Children can run wild and free, play in nature, get dirty in the mud and splash about in water, all in an enclosed, safe space.
Designed in a whimsical forest-style habitat, this is the place to go for children that love to let loose in nature. Miniature style waterfalls are dotted around where children can sit and splash – my favourite part of the park as Henry really enjoyed sitting in these areas on our first visit at 12 months old – and the water fountain is great for toddlers to run through.
You will also find wooden forts to climb, tree houses to explore, a huge chalk board to write on and an adorable petting zoo. Children can get messy in the sand, dirty in the mud, and generally tire themselves out with a good few hours of fun.
We first visited the park when Henry was 12 months old and he enjoyed sitting down playing with water but fast forward to two years old, he was running around exploring all areas of the park. We love visiting early morning around 9am, get a few hours of play in and have lunch in the shade before we leave by 12pm. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that even though this is an outdoor park, the abundance of trees keep it mostly shaded.
The onsite cafe is run by Park House, so you can pop in for healthy snacks, lunch and coffee. XPark costs around 80 aed per child with two accompanying adults, for two hours. Children under 1 years old enter for free. Check out their social media pages as they regularly hold Mama mornings with discounted rates.
